Jo Durie is a former #5 world-ranked tennis player and held the position of British number #1 for 9 years.

She was the winner of 2 Grand Slam Mixed Doubles Titles with her long time partner Jeremy Bates at Wimbledon '87 and Australia '91.

She reached the semi-finals of the Roland Garros & US Open in 1983 and quarter-finals '83 Australian & '84 Wimbledon beating Zina Garrison, Pam Shriver, Hana Mandlíková, and Tracy Austin.

After a successful junior career, in 1976  Jo turned professional in 1977 played her first match at Wimbledon that year against the eventual champion, Virginia Wade.
