Fred is one of Scotland's best-loved comedians who made a dramatic career change at the age of 31 when he decided to leave his former occupation as an accountant to become a professional stand-up comedian. He is a regular on the Edinburgh Festival line-up and has toured the country with his own stand-up shows. He has also showcased his comedic flare at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal. He's made many guest appearances on shows such as Have I Got News For You and They Think It's All Over, before co-hosting the hugely popular McCoist and MacAulay.

Fred has been involved in countless series for the BBC in the UK and Scotland.  He hosted the breakfast show on BBC Radio Scottland from 1997 until 2015 and is a regular panellist on the prestigious Radio 4 production The News Quiz.
